How is private tutoring arranged?
Typically, a parent calls or emails me to inquire about private or group tutoring. During our initial conversation, we work together to develop a tutoring plan for their child.
How many tutoring sessions will my child need?
I am asked this question all the time! Because every child is different, this is difficult to answer. As I work with your child I will get a sense of how easily he or she picks up the material. If your child advances quickly through the lessons and completes all of the homework, then they will need fewer sessions. We will speak about your child’s progress after every tutoring session.
Do you provide group tutoring?
Yes! I have tutored many groups in the past.
Do your rates change for group tutoring?
Yes! The more students in a tutoring session for the same subject (for example, SAT Test Prep) the lower the rate per student.
Will you let me know what topics you covered during a tutoring session?
Yes! After every session I will let you know what we have covered. I will also give you my thoughts about your child’s progress and what I have assigned them for homework.
What happens if we have to reschedule a tutoring session?
Schedule changes are bound to happen from time to time. Ideally, I require 24-48 hours notice to adjust my schedule accordingly. If you have pre-paid for the session, we will reschedule the session when it works for all of us.
When are you paid for each tutoring session?
All sessions are prepaid via Venmo before each tutoring session.
Am I able to buy blocks of time in advance? If so, do the rates change?
Yes and yes. The more tutoring sessions you buy in advance, the lower the hourly rate.
